Light, gardens, and Twig
Below is Marty and I's first attempt at light painting. We got a wild hair last week after we got the camera and well this is what we got. There were a few others, but this one is our favorite. This photograph is straight out of the camera. No editing, aside from converting the file to a jpeg.
This photo is from two nights after the first. I helped Marty lock up the college on sunday night and we decided to use the theatre. All I can say is we are addicted. We are both thinking of items we can use to paint with light.

Here is my newly planted herb garden. The fencing is to keep the dog out. She thinks we planted this stuff just for her to dig up. It's great. She already pulled out the orange mint. P.S. Please ignore the green paint. That used to be the color of our house. Then it was white and pretty soon it'll be something else. I am leaning towards a nice medium grey. But we'll see.

My darling Husband built me this fancy new raised bed. I ordered some amazing heirloom seeds and can't wait to plant them. Mammoth red cabbage, leeks, beets, and these little carrots.

And finally, Twig, or Lou, or Tiny, or whatever you want to call him. I took this when messing around with the new camera and I think it turned out pretty good. And besides how can you resist the cuteness?

The little black and white
This is the usual face from Lou as I cook dinner. He wait patiently for any morsel to hit the ground. It's partially my fault... seriously, how do you resist that face? But, I do have to say when we brought him home he knew where the goods were. The kitchen was were you could always find him. We joke that he is a cat-dog because he loves scraps.
He has the softest belly fur EVER. And he's not afraid to show it off. The above picture is pretty normal around the house. Belly exposed waiting for some attention.

The Accomplice.
Louie, our kitten, well he's 10 months now, but still very much a kitten has this terrible habit of playing with his toys in the hall way outside our bedroom door in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. Having hardwood floors this makes it even worse. He'll bat around his mice or even his little plastic balls, smacking them into the door and the walls.
Last night, just as I was dozing off I heard, "WACK!" Throwing the covers off, annoyed, I got out of bed, opened the door and found him there with one of his plastic balls. I snatched it up from him and closed the door. Leaving him there with a blank stare of "what?!" on his face. Okay, now that it's over I can go back to sleep...
Fast forward to 2:57 a.m. "WACK!" I roll over with irritation and hope it'll just go away... "SWOOSH, WACK!" D'oh! Marty got up this time... only to find Louie in the hall way with the empty package of nightlight bulbs from the table in the living room, left by Marty's keys to remind him to buy more. Marty picked up the package, rounded the corner to the living room and found Samson sitting on the table?!?! The accomplice. He knocked the package down for Louie to play with.
Now if you ask me this is war, I tell you. Now I know they are in it together, scheming to wake us up. Why? I have no idea, but I can only think it’s because they are felines.

The truth

'round here it's always cats week!
It's true... the cats rule. They get what they want, when they want it from any of us. They know how to work it too. The food dish is a great example. It's been getting empty much faster than usual as of lately. And it's Louie. He had been ravenous... growing and getting bigger and that makes him eat like a horse, literally. When the dish is empty, Samson is the first to tell you. He strategically waits outside the bedroom door in the wee hours of the morning. As I am hazily making my way to the laundry room to let Rosie out, he's there underfoot making it known that he's hungry, NOW. And by making it known, I mean he's causing me to trip over him! The truth of it is, if you are a "cat" person you relish in this ridiculous behavior from your felines. It's what makes them charming and irresistable. Aside from the fact they rule and they are just fine telling you that, we love them 'round these parts.
