Oh little buddehs

Oh Brixton. This guy, seriously, is something else. I never could have imagined that having him would be as much fun as it has turned out to be. He makes me laugh everyday.

He is inquisitive and boisterous. He takes every opportunity he can to yell at the cats. Or his brothers if they aren't paying attention to him.

He is so smart. One afternoon, in about two minutes he figured out how to drink out of a straw. Just by watching me. He doesn't miss a beat. Such a busy body.

He is a happy baby (except a night when he doesn't sleep). He is always smiling and laughing. He loves his bath, to eat, to be outside and to play Julian's keyboard.

He is growing up too fast. Two teeth have sprouted in the last month. And I know there are more coming.

He is so much fun. Watching him with his brothers is such a treat. They love him, and it is so obvious he loves them.

We are so in love with this little guy and all his ways!

Six months

It's simply amazing how fast time flies. When you are desperately waiting for something it moves at the pace of a snail, but try and savor something and it whips by like a a race car. Would you believe that six months ago today Brixton was born? Say what?! I know. It's so hard to believe. This time last year he was growing in my belly and I had no idea what I was in for.

The last six months have been amazing and tiring all at the same time. There have been many a sleepless nights, lots of belly laughs, copious amounts of drool and spit up, sweet cuddles, and endless happiness.

He has changed so much in six months it's incredible. Those first few smiles melted me, then came the laughing, then the squealing, and now the belly laughs. The laughs come mostly from his Dad, who he adores.

Oh and his brothers, he adores them too! The way his face lights up when they talk to him. It's so special.

My coffee tastes like crap - The First Trimester

Today I am officially 14 weeks and can say I made it out of the first trimester with only limited disaster.  Okay, so there wasn't really any disaster, per say, but I did keep track of some of the more interesting things that happened in the last 7 weeks.  It's so crazy!

2/14/2011 2AM - laying awake with a rumbling tummy.  Really, am I really this hungry!  I got up and had a few slices of cheese, walnuts, and a glass of milk.

2/16/2011 9AM - I love my one cup of coffee in the morning.  It's my thing.  I don't need it, I just like it a whole lot.  After the last 4 days of trying to forcefully drink my coffee, I've come to the conclusion that it tastes like crap!

2/17/2011 - 6 weeks today and I feel queasy all day!

2/19/2011 3PM - Grocery shopping I have the sudden urge to eat Lay's Sour Cream and Onion chips while shopping in the store.  I can't stop thinking about them in my cart.

2/22/2011 7:20AM - Almost lost my breakfast.  This was the first time I've actually really felt the urge to throw up. Oi.

3/5/2011 4:47AM - Hungry again.  It's almost 5 AM.  What the heck?! Carrot sticks, peanut butter and jelly toast and a big glass of milk.  My Husband thinks this is a strange combination.  I thought it was lovely!

3/16/2011 7ish PM -  Threw up my dinner.  Awesome.  Did you know I can puke so hard that it will hit the toilet water and splash back up on my face?  That's a neat trick isn't it.

The first trimester was, you know, normal, in terms of pregnancy.  Constant low grade nausea, EXTREME fatigue, uh, slow bowels, weird food aversions, bathroom breaks in the middle of the night.  This past week or so my energy level seems to be picking up and the nausea is, well, less.  Still there, but not nagging me all day.

Raw meat is still difficult for me, which it has NEVER been.  I have to just look away from it sometimes, regain composure and then complete the task.  Although, the other night Marty had to cook the ground beef until it wasn't raw anymore.  I just couldn't look at it without gagging.  So weird.

Anyway, moving on.  Time for progress of the belly growth.  We began taking pictures at 7 weeks.   Here is the first trimester.

There is definitely something going on in there.

Shhhhh, we've got a secret

Things have been quiet around here, I know.  We've kinda been hiding out.  Not on purpose, by any means, but just sort of hanging out.

See, we've got some news.  Some very exciting news that we learned about in February and have been waiting for the right time to share our secret.

I think that time is right now.

So lean in and listen.

We're going to have a baby!

That's right!  Marty and I are expecting.  *insert big grin*

As of today I am 13 weeks pregnant.

So hang on for the ride, as I'll be posting baby updates here, and help us welcome another crumb to the crumb-snatchers family!

Say what?

Last night at dinner Julian asked if I was drinking tea.  I was.

Then he asked, "what kind, Earl Greg?"

I said, "did you just say Earl Greg?", right as Marty was taking a sip of his tea.

Needless to say there was choking and belly laughing.

Earl Greg.  Where do kids come up with this stuff?

Nezzbick vs. the salad

"OH man, salad," he said and let out a big sigh.
Photobucket

"I have to do this, for my country," he stated as he stared down at the mound of green smothered in ranch.
Photobucket

He looked up with a fierce determination in his eyes.
Photobucket

"Crunch, crunch, take that salad!" He declared as he shoveled it in his mouth.
Photobucket

"MUST. GO. ON." He couldn't let the salad win.
Photobucket

"Victory," he declared!
